Delhi to Jaipur Taxi
One fixed fare, door to door, straight into the Pink City.
We run this NH-48 corridor almost every day of the week — for same-day sightseeing trips, wedding guests, corporate visits, and travellers continuing on to Jodhpur or Udaipur. Ask us about the Kotputli bypass, the best lunch stop, or where fog usually settles in January — we’ll have an answer, not a guess.
Introduction
Delhi to Jaipur — what this trip actually involves
Delhi to Jaipur is one of the most-travelled outstation routes out of the capital, and for good reason — it’s the opening leg of the Golden Triangle, a common weekend escape, and a route wedding parties and corporate teams use constantly.
The drive covers roughly 280 kilometres along NH-48, and on a clear day with an early start, it’s a comfortable 4.5 to 5 hour run. What changes the experience isn’t the distance — it’s the departure time, the vehicle, and whether your driver actually knows where the road tightens up around Manesar and Kotputli, or how a fully loaded Toyota Innova Crysta handles the highway versus a compact sedan.
We’re not an app or a marketplace that assigns a random nearby driver. Gayatri Tours & Travels is a Delhi-based operator, and our drivers cover this stretch of NH-48 on a near-daily basis — for airport transfers into Jaipur, same-day Amber Fort trips, multi-day Golden Triangle circuits, and wedding logistics where five or six cars need to move together. This page is written from that experience: real fare ranges, real stop recommendations, and honest advice on when a train genuinely beats a cab, and when it doesn’t.
Why Choose Gayatri Tours & Travels
We drive Delhi to Jaipur constantly — that’s the whole advantage.
When you call us, you speak to a person who books your trip, knows your driver, and stays reachable until you’re back home or checked into your Jaipur hotel.
A 5:00–5:30 AM departure from Delhi is the one that never disappoints. You clear Gurugram and Manesar before the truck traffic thickens near Shahjahanpur, and you’re checking into your Jaipur hotel or standing at Hawa Mahal by 10 AM — well before the midday heat or the afternoon coach-tour crowds arrive.
- 1Daily NH-48 route knowledge — our drivers know exactly where the Manesar–Kotputli stretch slows down and adjust departure timing to avoid it.
- 2Fixed fare confirmed upfront — toll, driver allowance, and any night surcharge are stated clearly, no renegotiation at Jaipur.
- 3Verified, licensed drivers — commercial passenger licence and background check required before any driver is assigned to an outstation trip.
- 4GPS-tracked vehicles — every car is tracked during the journey, which matters especially for wedding groups moving in convoy.
- 5Inspected before every trip — tyres, brakes, AC, and FASTag balance checked before departure; a dead AC on a May afternoon into Jaipur is not something we allow.
- 6Local company, real support — 24×7 support staffed by people who already know your booking details and can act immediately if plans shift.

Distance, Travel Time & Route
Delhi to Jaipur distance, driving time, and the road itself

The Journey — Road Conditions
What to expect on the Delhi–Jaipur road
Delhi Pickup
Your driver arrives at your door. Luggage goes in the boot, AC is running before you even step in.
Gurugram & Manesar Exit
The first 45–60 minutes cover NCR traffic. Leaving before 6 AM avoids almost all of it.
Dharuhera to Shahjahanpur
Open six-lane highway, steady speeds, minimal signals. The most relaxed stretch of the drive.
Kotputli Break (optional)
~150 km in, roughly the halfway point. Our recommended stop — clean dhabas, decent washrooms, fuel available.
Shahpura to Chandwaji
Some undulating road and slower-moving local traffic near the villages. Nothing serious, just not a stretch for overtaking casually.
Jaipur City Entry
Entry via Jhotwara or Ajmer Road depending on your drop point. City traffic adds 15–25 minutes depending on time of day.
Cleanest highway run. Reach Jaipur by 9:30–10 AM, well before midday heat or crowds at Amber Fort.
Minor NCR exit traffic. Reach Jaipur around noon — workable but not ideal for same-day sightseeing.
Peak Gurugram exit traffic. Adds 30–45 minutes to journey time.
Leave Jaipur here to arrive Delhi before evening congestion builds near Gurugram after 6 PM.
Winter fog (late December–January): visibility can drop sharply near Shahjahanpur and Kotputli before sunrise. Our drivers track fog alerts and adjust departure by 30–60 minutes when needed — we’ll let you know the evening before.
Jaipur Sightseeing & Nearby Places
What to see — and how to fit it into your schedule
Amber Fort — Hilltop Fort · UNESCO
Arrive by 8:30–9 AM to beat both heat and tour-bus crowds. Elephant rides need advance booking; jeep is faster and just as scenic.
City Palace — Royal Residence & Museum
Combine with the Jantar Mantar observatory next door — a perfect addition to a customized 2-day Jaipur itinerary.
Hawa Mahal — Palace Façade
Best photographed from the street opposite in late afternoon light. Interior visit is optional and quick.
Jantar Mantar — UNESCO Observatory
A guide genuinely helps here; the instruments aren’t self-explanatory without context.
Nahargarh Fort — Hilltop Viewpoint
Best at sunset for panoramic views over the entire city — a favourite add-on for a full Jaipur city tour by cab.
Jal Mahal — Lake Palace, viewpoint
Photo stop; the palace itself isn’t open to visitors, but the lakeside view is worth the pause.
Want to add Sanganer’s block-printing workshops or Chokhi Dhani for an evening cultural dinner? Both fit naturally on a two-day itinerary — ask us to build it in.
How We Compare
Private taxi vs train vs bus vs app cab
An honest comparison — we’ll tell you when the train genuinely makes more sense.
| Factor | Private Taxi (Us) | Train | App Cab | Bus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Door-to-door pickup | Yes | Station only | Sometimes | Fixed stops |
| Journey time | 4.5–5 hrs | 4.5–5.5 hrs (varies) | 4.5–5.5 hrs | 5.5–6.5 hrs |
| Fixed confirmed fare | Yes | If booked | Surge pricing | Fixed |
| Mid-route stops (Kotputli) | Your choice | Not possible | Complicated | Fixed stops only |
| Luggage space | Full boot | Overhead rack | Limited | Very limited |
| Senior / child travel | Recommended | Manageable | Variable | Difficult |
| Advance booking needed | No | Sells out on weekends | No | No |
| Driver waits in Jaipur | Yes | You arrange local transport | Re-book again | Fixed schedule |
| GST invoice | Yes | Yes | Sometimes | No |
When the train wins: If you’re travelling entirely solo with light luggage, a fast Delhi–Jaipur train is time-competitive. However, weekend train tickets sell out weeks in advance. Once you factor in the cost, hassle, and time of booking separate cabs — from your Delhi home to New Delhi Station, and then from Jaipur Junction to your hotel in Vaishali Nagar or Amer Road — a door-to-door private taxi becomes significantly more efficient and stress-free for families and groups.
Customer Reviews
Real reviews from real travellers
Driver arrived at 4:50 AM, ten minutes early. We were at Amber Fort by 9:15, ahead of the tour buses. Genuinely made the whole day easier.
Booked for a wedding group of 22, split across two Tempo Travellers. Both drivers coordinated timing perfectly for the venue arrival.
GST invoice was ready the same evening. Driver was professional, car was spotless, and there were no surprise charges at drop-off.
We’re visiting from the UK. The driver stopped exactly where we asked near Kotputli, and pointed out things along the way we wouldn’t have known otherwise.
Travelling alone, driver shared his details before pickup and checked in with me twice during the trip. Felt completely safe throughout.
Extended family trip, 9 of us. One Tempo Traveller instead of splitting into cars — everyone together, no coordination headaches.

Best Time to Travel
Best time to visit Jaipur
October–March
Recommended
10–28°C daytime. Comfortable for fort visits and walking the old city. Carry a layer for early morning starts in December–January.
April–June
Plan Carefully
Can exceed 44°C in May. A 5 AM departure gives you 3–4 hours outdoors before the heat peaks — plan indoor stops for the afternoon.
July–September
Low Season
Fewer tourists, greener surroundings around Nahargarh and Amber, occasional heavy showers that briefly slow highway traffic.
Nov–Feb
Wedding Season
Heavy wedding traffic into Jaipur. Book vehicles well in advance during this window — availability tightens fast.
Travel Tips by Traveller Type
Practical notes for every kind of traveller
Families with Children
Book the Innova Crysta or Hycross for extra legroom and a smoother ride through the Kotputli curves. We build in a break around the halfway point without being asked.
Senior Citizens
Higher step-in height vehicles like the Crysta reduce strain getting in and out. We also pace the journey with a mid-route stop as standard, not an afterthought.
Solo Women Travellers
Request a verified driver in advance — we’ll share the name, photo, and vehicle number before pickup, and our support line stays active throughout your trip.
Foreign Tourists
Drivers are used to first-time visitors and can point out landmarks, explain toll stops, and help with basic local guidance en route — not just drive silently.
Business Travellers
GST invoicing, punctual pickup, and a car ready for a same-day return if your meeting doesn’t require an overnight stay.
Wedding Guests & Groups
We coordinate multiple vehicles to arrive together, which matters far more than people expect when a venue has a fixed entry time.
