Why Gayatri Tours & Travels

Booked the way a family friend would arrange it

Not a call-centre algorithm — a small, accountable team that has driven this road often enough to know where it gets slow.

01 — Route Knowledge

Drivers who know NH-334, not just GPS

Our chauffeurs run Delhi–Haridwar routinely, so they know where the Meerut bypass gets congested on weekend mornings and which stretch near Muzaffarnagar needs a slower hand after dark.

02 — Transparent Pricing

One number, quoted before you travel

Toll, driver allowance and state tax are built into the fare we send you on WhatsApp — not added at the toll plaza as a surprise. What we quote is what you pay.

03 — Built for Pilgrims & Families

Comfortable for elderly parents and kids

We plan realistic stop points for washroom and tea breaks, keep the car cool in summer and warm in winter fog, and never rush a Ganga Aarti visit because the driver wants to head back early.

  • Monsoon & winterJuly–August sees heavier traffic near Kanwar Yatra camps; December–January mornings often have fog near Muzaffarnagar, so we build in extra time.
  • Toll & parkingTwo to three toll plazas en route; parking near Har Ki Pauri is a short paid lot, included in your trip planning.

Once You Arrive

A quick guide to Har Ki Pauri

What our regular travellers ask about most — timings, the walk from parking, and the moments worth planning your evening around.

Aarti Timing

Evening Ganga Aarti

Usually held around sunset (roughly 6:00–7:00 PM depending on season). Arrive 45 minutes early to find a good spot on the steps — your driver will factor this into pickup timing.

Parking & Walk

From the car to the ghat

Vehicles park in the designated lot near the Clock Tower or Upper Road; it’s a 5–8 minute walk from there to Har Ki Pauri itself, mostly flat and manageable for elderly travellers.

Temple Etiquette

A few local customs

Footwear stays outside most temple areas — carry a small bag for your shoes. Photography is generally welcome at the ghats but avoid it during private rituals unless invited.

Best Time to Visit

When to plan your trip

October–March is the most comfortable weather. April–June gets hot by midday; July–August is Kanwar Yatra season with heavier crowds and traffic; plan around these if you prefer a quieter visit.

Where to Stay

Hotels near Har Ki Pauri

Most travellers prefer stays within a 10–15 minute walk of Har Ki Pauri for easy access to the evening Aarti.

Where to Eat

Local food & restaurants

Try the kachori-sabzi and aloo puri breakfasts near Bara Bazaar, and pure-vegetarian thalis along Upper Road.

Parking Guide

Where your driver will park

Paid parking lots near the Clock Tower and Upper Road serve Har Ki Pauri; during peak season and Kanwar Yatra, parking shifts further out and your driver will guide you to the nearest available lot.

Ropeway Timings

Mansa Devi & Chandi Devi ropeways

Both ropeways typically operate roughly 8:00 AM–6:00 PM (extended hours on weekends and festivals). Go early morning to avoid the midday queue — timings can vary by season, so confirm on arrival.

Shopping

Local markets

Bara Bazaar and Moti Bazaar are the main shopping stretches for brassware, prayer items, Ayurvedic products and dry fruits — both within easy walking distance of Har Ki Pauri.

Safety Tips

Staying safe at the ghats

Hold handrails at the bathing ghats during the holy dip, keep valuables with a trusted family member on shore, and stay within marked areas — currents near Har Ki Pauri can be stronger than they look.

Worth The Extra Hour

Ritika S. — Family trip, Innova Crysta 18-5-2026

“Booked last-minute during Kanwar season and they were upfront that the return would take longer because of diversions. No surprises at the toll either.”

Amit V. — Round trip, Sedan 17-2-2026

“We added Rishikesh on the same trip and the driver knew exactly where to park near Lakshman Jhula. Made the day much easier than planning it ourselves.”

Frequently Asked

Questions travellers ask us most

How much does a Delhi to Haridwar taxi cost?+

A one-way sedan typically costs ₹3,800–4,200 and a round trip ₹6,800–7,400, including driver allowance and standard toll. SUVs, Innova Crysta and Tempo Travellers cost more based on seating. We confirm an exact figure on WhatsApp before you book.

How long does the drive actually take?+

Around 4.5–5.5 hours for 214 km under normal conditions. It can stretch to 6–7 hours during Kanwar Yatra (July–August) or Kumbh Mela periods due to police diversions, or in winter fog near Muzaffarnagar.

Can I book a one-way taxi, or only round trip?+

Both are available. One-way fares carry a small return-empty adjustment since the driver comes back without a passenger; round trips work out cheaper per day if you’re staying 1–2 nights in Haridwar.

Is the toll and driver allowance included in the quoted fare?+

Yes. Toll, driver allowance and fuel are built into the number we send you. The only variable cost is Uttarakhand state entry tax on some vehicle categories, which we list separately so there’s no confusion at the toll booth.

What is the best time to leave Delhi for the evening Aarti?+

Leaving Delhi by 6:00–7:00 AM gets most travellers to Haridwar with enough daylight buffer for lunch, hotel check-in, and reaching Har Ki Pauri well before the evening Ganga Aarti begins.

Do you provide vehicles for Kanwar Yatra or Char Dham season?+

Yes, though we recommend booking 3–5 days in advance during these peak windows since availability tightens and routes are affected by temporary diversions.

Is it safe for women travelling alone?+

All our drivers are verified and background-checked, and we share the driver’s name, photo and vehicle number before pickup. We’re also happy to share live trip updates with a family member on request.

Can you pick up directly from Delhi Airport?+

Yes — we track your flight and adjust pickup time automatically if it’s delayed, at no extra charge for reasonable delays.

What is your cancellation policy?+

Free cancellation up to 6 hours before your scheduled pickup. Cancellations within 6 hours may carry a partial charge to cover the driver’s dispatch cost.

Can I extend the trip to Rishikesh or Mussoorie?+

Absolutely — just mention it while booking and we’ll quote a combined itinerary. Rishikesh adds about 45 minutes each way; Mussoorie extensions are better planned as a separate half-day add-on.

Is pet-friendly travel available?+

Yes, small pets in a carrier are generally fine — just mention it while booking so we assign a suitable vehicle and driver comfortable with pets on board.

Can you provide a child seat?+

Child seats are available on request; please ask at least a day in advance so we can fit one to the vehicle you’ve booked.

Do you assist elderly passengers who need extra help?+

Yes — let us know in advance and we’ll plan slower boarding time, additional rest stops, and a driver briefed on assisting with mobility.

Is night travel available and safe?+

Yes, we run night departures and returns. Drivers are experienced with the route after dark, and a night charge applies for pickups between 11 PM and 6 AM.

What payment methods do you accept?+

Cash, UPI, and major payment apps are all accepted. We can also arrange a payment link for advance booking confirmation.

Do you accept UPI payments?+

Yes, UPI is one of our most common payment methods and works for both advance and on-arrival payment.

Can I get a GST invoice for my trip?+

Yes, a GST invoice is available on request — useful for corporate travel or business reimbursement. Let us know before booking so we can capture your billing details.

How do waiting charges work?+

The first 30 minutes of waiting at any stop are free. Beyond that, a per-hour waiting charge applies, confirmed upfront in your quote.

Is there a limit on luggage, or a charge for extra bags?+

Standard luggage is included in every fare. For unusually large or extra items (beyond what fits comfortably in the boot), let us know in advance so we can recommend a bigger vehicle if needed.

Do I need to arrange driver accommodation on multi-day trips?+

For overnight or multi-day trips, a driver accommodation charge or arrangement is agreed upfront — either covered by you at the destination or added as a fixed allowance to the fare.

Can you do hotel pickup instead of a home address?+

Yes, we regularly pick up from hotels across Delhi — just share the hotel name and we’ll coordinate arrival time with the front desk if needed.

Do you handle Delhi Airport pickups directly?+

Yes, from T1, T2 or T3 with live flight tracking, so a delayed landing doesn’t affect your fare or pickup arrangement.

What happens if my train is delayed and I booked a station pickup?+

We track train status and adjust pickup timing accordingly for reasonable delays, at no extra charge.

Is monsoon travel to Haridwar safe?+

Generally yes, though we build in extra travel time for heavier traffic and occasional waterlogging near Meerut and Muzaffarnagar during peak monsoon weeks.

How far in advance should I book during Char Dham season?+

We recommend booking 5–7 days ahead during peak Char Dham season (May–June and September–October) as vehicle availability tightens considerably during these windows.
