Delhi to Rishikesh Taxi — the 240 km private drive to the banks of the Ganga
One car, one driver who knows the Delhi–Meerut Expressway traffic pattern and the Haridwar bypass by heart, timed so you land on the ghats before the evening Aarti begins.
Timed for the Aarti, not just the destination.
A Rishikesh trip usually has a moment it’s built around — the evening Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat or Parmarth Niketan, an early rafting slot, a sunrise at Ram Jhula. We plan the pickup time backward from that moment instead of just quoting a generic drive time.
Aarti-timed departures
Tell us you want to catch the 6 PM Ganga Aarti and we’ll work out the exact pickup window from your location, with a buffer for expressway traffic.
Drivers who know the ghats
Rishikesh’s narrow lanes near Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula aren’t built for cars — our drivers know exactly where to park and how far you’ll walk in from there.
One fare, confirmed in writing
Toll and driver allowance are included in your quote. Nothing changes at the toll plaza that wasn’t already in the number you agreed to.
Built for every kind of traveller
Solo yoga retreats, family pilgrimages, bachelor rafting trips, senior citizen darshan visits — the vehicle and pace are matched to who’s travelling.
A desk that answers at 5 AM
Early departures and late Aarti returns don’t run on office hours. Our dispatch line doesn’t either.
Clear cancellation terms
Weather, permits and personal plans shift. Our cancellation window is written in plain language before any payment is taken.

When to leave Delhi, by day and by season.
Leaving Delhi by 6 AM gets you past the expressway toll plazas before the mid-morning build-up. Most weekday trips reach Rishikesh in about 5 hours, comfortably in time for a 6 PM Aarti.
Friday evening and Saturday morning both see heavier expressway traffic from other Delhi travellers on the same route. A pre-6 AM start avoids most of it; a 9 AM Saturday departure can add 45–60 minutes.
July–August brings the Kanwar Yatra, with large stretches of NH334 near Muzaffarnagar and Haridwar seeing pedestrian diversions and one-way restrictions. Journey time can stretch to 7–8 hours — build in a generous buffer or consider an alternate week if your dates are flexible.
Outside Kanwar season, monsoon driving on this route is manageable — the expressway drains well. Occasional slow patches appear near Haridwar; treat it as a 6-hour drive during heavy rain weeks.
December–January fog is heaviest on the approach to Muzaffarnagar, usually clearing by mid-morning. A 7 AM start rather than pre-dawn often means better visibility for the fastest stretch of the drive.
The yoga capital of the world, sitting where the Ganga leaves the Himalayas.
Rishikesh sits at roughly 372 metres, right where the Ganga exits the hills and settles into the plains — which is why it became a centre for both spiritual practice and river-based adventure sport.
Two very different Rishikesh trips — often on the same visit.
Parmarth Niketan
The largest ashram on the riverfront, known for its evening Aarti with hundreds of diyas set afloat on the Ganga. Arrive by 5:45 PM for a good spot.
Triveni Ghat
The more local, less touristy Aarti experience, held nightly at sunset with priests leading chants from the main ghat.
Neelkanth Mahadev
A Shiva temple perched in the hills — the drive up is as much a reason to go as the temple itself.
Beatles Ashram
The abandoned ashram where the Beatles studied transcendental meditation in 1968, now covered in murals and open for visits.
River Rafting
Runs from Shivpuri or Marine Drive down to Rishikesh, Grade II–IV depending on season — best October–June, closed during peak monsoon.
Bungee Jumping
India’s highest bungee jump at roughly 83 metres, about 15 km from Rishikesh town.
Yoga & Wellness
Drop-in classes to month-long teacher training courses — Parmarth Niketan and Sivananda Ashram are the best known for structured programs.
Camping by the Ganga
Riverside tent camps combine well with a rafting trip — most operate seasonally between September and June.
Best time to visit Rishikesh.
| Months | Weather | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Sept – Nov | Pleasant, clear skies, 15–28°C | Rafting, Aarti, general sightseeing — arguably the best window |
| Dec – Feb | Cold mornings, 5–18°C, occasional fog en route | Ashram stays, meditation retreats, quieter ghats |
| Mar – Jun | Warm days, 20–38°C by May | Early morning rafting, Beatles Ashram, temple visits before heat peaks |
| Jul – Aug | Monsoon, Kanwar Yatra crowds | Lush scenery but rafting typically suspended; expect road diversions |
Worth the extra drive, if you have the days.
| Place | Distance from Rishikesh | Why go |
|---|---|---|
| Haridwar | 24 km | Har Ki Pauri Aarti, older and larger pilgrim town |
| Dehradun | 45 km | Robber’s Cave, Sahastradhara, easy day trip |
| Mussorie | 80 km | Hill station add-on, roughly 2.5 hrs further |
| Rajaji National Park | 18 km | Elephant and tiger reserve, good half-day safari |
| Shivpuri | 16 km | Rafting put-in point and riverside camping belt |
Rishikesh is also the main gateway to the Char Dham Yatra. Many travellers spend a night here before continuing to Kedarnath or Badrinath, as the mountain roads beyond Rishikesh require an early start and experienced hill-route drivers. If you’re planning a pilgrimage, ask about a combined itinerary instead of booking each leg separately. It often saves both time and cost.
Match the stay to the trip you’re taking.
Riverside resorts
Private decks over the Ganga, spa and yoga programming built in. Best for a slower, longer stay.
Spiritual stays
Simple rooms, included meals, structured yoga and meditation schedule — Parmarth Niketan and Sivananda Ashram are the most established.
Ram Jhula guesthouses
Basic, clean rooms within walking distance of the ghats — ideal if the Aarti and temples are the priority over amenities.
